Job Summary:
The Clinical Manager will be responsible for the overall operations and development of the Midtown clinical personnel. The Clinical Manager will hire, train, and manage the performance of the clinics’ medical assistants and radiology technicians. The Clinical Manager will also serve as a back-up to these positions should there be any shortages or gaps in the daily workload.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the medical assistants and radiology technicians in the clinic. 
  • Manage daily staffing to ensure optimal clinical operation of the practice. 
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager for the interviewing and hiring of new clinical staff.
  • Perform clinical staff reviews. 
  • Review timecards of clinical staff and review overtime. 
  • Serve as a back up in various departments when needed. 
  • Utilize practices EMR system, EClinicalWorks, to document patient information and notes.
  • Room patients, prepare UDS, and conduct patient workups. 
  • Assist with prior authorizations for medications and assist with deliveries.
  • Complete precertification of office administered injectable medication such as Botox and Xeomin, coordinate deliveries with the specialty pharmacy.
  • May serve as the subject matter expert in clinical responsibilities and duties.
  • Provide support and backup on medical supply ordering.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:
  • Must have a clinical certification such as a Medical Assistant certification or LPN certification;  RN license is strongly preferred but will consider a CMA or LPN commensurate with experience. 
  • Clinical experience being an MA/LPN/RN in a medical office or similar setting.
  • Three years’ experience in medical office management is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology. 
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be able to coordinate a series of activities simultaneously. 
  • Strong clinical skills and building positive relationships with patients.
  • Proven leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Must show willingness and ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Must have good management skills and the ability to work and achieve targets within stipulated time limits. 
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. 
  • Must be detailed and customer service-oriented. 
  • Ability to motivate staff whenever necessary. 

 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements
  • Work performed in an office environment. 
  • Involves frequent contact with physicians, leadership, and medical office staff. 
  • Work may be stressful at times. 
  • Interaction with others is frequent and often disruptive. 
  • Requires long periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting down. 
  • Physical activity can be spontaneous and fast-paced regularly. 
  • Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment. 
  • Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations. 
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds with no assistance.
