Job Title: ECPC Pain Specialists - Wake Offices - Medical Assistant

Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt  

Department: ECPC Wake Locations  

Reports To: Practice Manager  

Supervisory Responsibilities: None  

Position Summary  

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Medical Assistant to join our interventional pain  

management team. In this essential role, you will provide both clinical and administrative  

support to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients. You will assist clinicians during  

procedures, manage patient flow, and maintain accurate and timely medical records. This  

position requires a detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while  

maintaining empathy and professionalism in every patient interaction.  

Key Responsibilities  

● Greet, room, and triage patients  

● Record vital signs and conduct medication reconciliation  

● Assist providers before, during, and after procedures  

● Prepare, clean, and maintain procedure rooms and office  

● Document patient information in the EMR (eClinicalWorks)  

● Facilitate communication with outside medical offices (calls/faxes) to obtain or send  
records, referrals, imaging, etc.  

● Initiate and manage prior authorizations for medications and procedures  

● Prepare charts and assist with overall clinical flow  

● Support front desk and administrative tasks as needed  

● Assist in operating and positioning the C-arm (X-ray fluoroscopy) during procedures  

● Handle sensitive patient concerns with discretion, professionalism, and empathy  

● Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or providers  

Qualifications:  

● High school diploma or equivalent required  

● 1–2 years of experience in a medical office preferred  

● Familiarity with medical terminology  

Skills & Abilities:  

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  

● Reliable, compassionate, and respectful approach to patient care  

● Strong organizational and time management abilities  

● Ability to work collaboratively within a team and multitask efficiently  

● Proficient in the use of computers and EMR systems (eClinicalWorks experience a plus)  

● Quick decision-making skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset  

Work Environment & Physical Requirements  

● Clinical office setting with frequent interaction with staff, physicians, and patients  

● Fast-paced environment that may require quick transitions between tasks  

● Prolonged periods of standing and walking required  

● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance  

● Requires manual dexterity, vision, and hearing necessary to operate medical and office  

equipment
