Location: Crystal Coast Pain Management, New Bern NC

Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Department: ECPC- Crystal Coast Pain Management

Reports to: Practice Manager

Job Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

Job Summary:

The Procedure Room Tech will be responsible for running the procedure room as safe and efficiently as possible. The incumbent will work closely with the Physicians and radiology technicians to deliver high quality care in our outpatient procedure rooms. Responsibilities include patient intake, assisting the physician before/during/after procedures, conducting post-procedure assessment, and preparing procedure paperwork. Additionally, this position will require time spent in a Medical Assistant capacity. Duties include rooming patients, triage and assessment, administering IM injections, and scheduling diagnostic tests.

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Triage patients.

● Take vitals.

● Prepare/clean up procedure rooms.

● Prep Sterile Field.

● Assist physicians with a wide variety of procedures.

● Handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact.

● Prepare procedure paperwork.

● Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

● High school diploma.

● Two years’ experience.

● Knowledge of medical terminology.

● Proficiency with EMR systems.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

● Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, and patients

● Strong ability to multitask

● Works to resolve problems or determines an appropriate course of action in a timely manner.

● Ability to multi-task and move from one project to another as needed.

● Strong time management, follow-through and organizational skills.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

● Work performed in an office environment.

● Involves frequent contact with physicians, leadership, and medical office staff.

● Requires long periods of standing and walking

● Must be able to wear lead apron for prolonged periods of time

● Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate medical and office equipment.

● Must be able to lift 50 pounds with no assistance.
