Location: Jacksonville, NC
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer service-focused individual to join our front desk and call center team in our Jacksonville office. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth, welcoming experience for patients and requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Register patients and verify/update all demographic information for accuracy
- Scan insurance cards and photo ID
- Confirm active authorizations for visits
- Ensure HIPAA disclosure forms are on file
- Collect copays and reconcile payments
- Schedule and check out patient appointments
- Answer and transfer phone calls professionally
- Scan documents and shred all paperwork each afternoon
- Close out cash drawer and process credit card transactions at day’s end
- Maintain extensive communication with patients, including those experiencing pain or distress
- Accurately document in our Electronic Health Record system (we use eClinicalWorks)
Qualifications:
- Previous front desk, medical office, or call center experience preferred
- Ability to speak clearly, calmly, and professionally under pressure
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- High level of discretion in handling Protected Health Information (PHI); HIPAA compliance required
- Professional and pleasant demeanor at all times when interacting with patients, staff, and external parties
- Comfortable using EHR systems and general office software
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
